Pregnancy and birth is such an exciting, highly emotional and life-changing experience. It helps to have a professional by your side who can ensure your wellbeing and comfort are number one priorities. As a private obstetrician who is dedicated to providing you with considered and unhurried pregnancy care, I’m dedicated to supporting you both before and after birth.
Having a private obstetrician by your side to guide you through your pregnancy, labour and delivery can be incredibly empowering. Not only will you be able to form a close connection based on trust and care, but you’ll be in the hands of a specialist with the knowledge and expertise you need to help you have a confident birth. As your private obstetrician, you’ll see me throughout your pregnancy, labour, and post-natal period.
As your private obstetrician in Melbourne, you’ll receive premium care and support before and during your pregnancy, and after you give birth. Your first appointment with me will involve an ultrasound dating scan, and we will take a look at your medical history for any concerns that may affect your pregnancy. You’ll also have the opportunity to discuss your birth choices. Use this time to ask as many questions as you need, as well as share what hospital you prefer and the maternity programs you’d like to engage in.
With decades of experience as a private obstetrician in Melbourne, I’m dedicated to helping you deliver your newborn. Specialising in low risk and high risk pregnancies, such as multiple pregnancies, recurrent miscarriages, maternal-assisted caesarean section, maternal-fetal medicine and fetal surgery, I take a holistic approach to pregnancy care. I work with two experienced and caring midwives, who provide wellness advice, birth planning and breastfeeding support. I’m committed to ensuring that both mother and baby receive the best possible prenatal and postnatal care, and I aim to provide as smooth a transition as possible on the journey to motherhood.
The outcome of my research contributes to the well-being of my patients. As an active clinical researcher, I am currently involved in research projects for multiple pregnancies, Alloimmune Thrombocytopenia (NAIT), immunisations in pregnancy and breastfeeding. I have also had a number of articles published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
I am a member of the The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG), the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, the Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand, and Victorian Fetal Therapy Service (VFTS).
I’ve been actively involved in teaching at all levels, including student doctors and midwives, doctors training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and training qualified obstetricians doing further training as Maternal-Fetal Medicine sub-specialists.
My consulting rooms are in East Melbourne and I admit at multiple hospitals around Melbourne for your convenience. I take private appointments for births at Epworth Freemasons Private Hospital and Frances Perry House Private Hospital.
